であた ところ に かえりたい

The title of this blog: 'Back To The Place Where We Met'. Not only a good way to start this entry but also one of my favorite episodes of Inuyasha, a Japanese anime. It some how struck me as appropriate.

As some of you know, I've been missing Japan quite alot lately. Alot of my friends at uni speak Japanese or are interested in the country so it's just an annoying reminder of how much I want to go back. Here are some photos of my beautiful years in Japan.

This is a photo of Mt. Fugi in the summer. It was very brown and of course very big. Sure it was a bit of a bummer that it was not as magnificant as most people imagine it, without the snow. But it was still an incredible experience and a very good bragging right. The veiw is of course, incredible.

This is a photo of me at age 12 I think. The horse next to me, Sekito Boy, was the first horse I had ever ridden. I still remember how big and slightly scary he was. But also what a beautiful temprement he had. I still miss him, even though we were only friends for an hour or two.

This castle was unbeleiveably tall and magnificant. It was at a place called Matsumoto. Inside it was like a museum for things like (very) old samurai armour and such. Even thought it was raining that day it was still one place I'll never forget.

This is my sister and I in yukata - summer kimonoes. This festival was held right outside our house in the park. At night matsuri (Japanese festivals) is full of the most beautiful smell of food and summer. The lanterns look amazing of course. I'll have to find a photo we took of them and put it up. The best experience ever, if you're in Japan, is a summer fireworks festival. You will never forget it.

Now you can see why I miss this beautiful place so much.
